Role Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented, reliable individual to join our team as a Materials Handler. This role will be responsible for maintaining inventory levels, identifying materials, and fulfilling production orders accurately. They will also operate forklifts safely, assist with inventory management tasks, ensure proper storage and handling of materials, all while adhering to safety protocols. A successful individual in this role would be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick, pack, and load/unload products including pallets, cases, and coils from trucks to designated areas and ensuring accurate handling and storage
- Select cases based on production orders and operate required technology efficiently
- Conduct weekly product inventory, maintaining accurate production records and report issues promptly
- Complete documentation such as Bill of Materials (BOL) accurately, communicating any shortages or overages of materials to managers as needed
- Perform inspections of machinery for safety compliance and maintenance
- Perform general housekeeping and sanitation tasks to maintain a clean and safe work environment
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or a related field is preferred
- Knowledge of plant safety policies and procedures
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, loading/unloading pallets, and moving materials around the facility
- Proven written and verbal communication skills including the ability to read and write in English legibly and accurately
